Miznica: A Multifunctional and Innovative Table Design

Branka Urbanija, a renowned designer, has created a one-of-a-kind table design called Miznica. Inspired by the psychology of personality development and the connection between cuisine and spirituality, Miznica offers a new and innovative way of serving food while promoting personal growth and creative expression.

What sets Miznica apart from other table designs is its multifunctionality. With many possible combinations and layouts, Miznica allows for different ways of serving and enjoying food. The set includes a square plate that serves as both a serving plate and a cutting desk on the other side. Additionally, there is a triangular container for sauces and other separate dishes, designed to firmly connect with the surface.

Made from Kerrock, an industrial stone variation, the plates are precisely cut and polished by hand. The combination of Kerrock and sleek wooden plates enhances the design's sophistication and uniqueness. The wooden platter, made of chestnut wood, is oiled with a natural oil mixture and finished with bee wax for additional waterproofness.

With Miznica, Branka Urbanija aims to create a harmonious balance between contrasting elements. The design not only offers functionality but also adds an aesthetic appeal to any dining experience. The project, which started in Autumn 2015, was completed in late 2015 with final adjustments made in early 2016.

Miznica has received recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware, and Cookware Design category in 2017. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to quality of life improvements.
